Careers at Rapport
Rapport is building AI-first infrastructure to fix healthcare’s financial plumbing and help providers get paid fairly.
We’re an AI-driven platform focused on turning payer contracts, claims, and policies into real-time intelligence for accurate reimbursement.
Our work puts money back into patient care, reduces burnout in revenue cycle teams, and helps create a more aligned healthcare system.
Why Join Rapport
Be part of a founding team solving one of the most critical problems in healthcare.
Mission with Real Stakes
Hospitals and clinicians lose enormous sums due to opaque payment rules and contract complexity. We are building the infrastructure to fix it, ensuring that healthcare dollars go to patient care, not administrative waste.
Early-Stage Impact
This is a founding-team moment. You'll join a small, focused team with meaningful equity and direct influence on our architecture, product direction, and culture. You're not just writing code; you're building the company.
Real Customers & Data
We have a large health system partner as a co-development customer. This gives early hires access to rich real-world data and immediate feedback loops—no building in a vacuum.
Deep Domain + Modern Tech
We combine decades of healthcare RCM experience with large language models, modern data pipelines, and agent-based automation to attack one of the most important unsolved problems in healthcare payments.
How We Work
Our values define how we operate and treat each other.
High Agency
We look for people who take ownership, solve problems proactively, and move with purpose.
Clear & Direct Communication
We give and receive feedback plainly and respectfully; clarity beats politics.
Customer Empathy
We care deeply about the realities our customers face and build with their constraints in mind.
Team-First
We optimize for collective success; no solo heroes.
Bias for Shipping & Learning
We iterate with customers, grounded in data and results, not slideware.
Work Hard, Celebrate Wins
We care about excellence and we make space to enjoy the journey together.
Work Style
- Remote-first, with in-person collaboration sessions every 6–8 weeks.
- High-trust environment focused on outcomes, not performative busyness.
Open Roles
Join us in building the future of healthcare payments.
Remote-first (US-based preferred)
What you'll do
- Turn messy contracts, claims, and policy documents into structured signals using LLMs, NLP, and modern data techniques.
- Design and maintain the pricing logic layer that determines expected payment, blending deterministic rules and ML-based validation.
- Build systems that can track temporal changes (effective dates, versioned rules) and explain why a claim priced the way it did.
- Implement models that flag anomalies, underpayments, and inconsistencies.
- Expose your work as reliable, auditable services and APIs that can operate at scale.
What you bring
- Strong experience in Python, SQL, and data modeling.
- Comfort designing systems that convert messy inputs into reliable, structured outputs.
- Experience with APIs and production services; familiarity with rules engines or ML validation is a plus.
- Curiosity about complex systems, and a desire to make them understandable.
- High rigor in testing, documentation, and version control.
Remote-first (US-based preferred)
What you'll do
- Build and run ingestion pipelines from a wide variety of sources: flat files, spreadsheets, APIs, PDFs, FTPs, and public datasets.
- Standardize inconsistent inputs into structured, versioned datasets.
- Architect ETL/ELT workflows with strong data quality checks, lineage, and observability.
- Design normalized, queryable data models for analytics, AI training, and real-time services.
- Monitor pipeline health with metrics, dashboards, and alerts.
- Partner with AI engineers, product, and customers to align ingestion priorities with business value.
What you bring
- 5–10+ years of data engineering experience (or equivalent high-impact track record).
- Deep comfort with Python, SQL, and modern data stacks (Databricks or similar).
- Experience with cloud platforms and orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, etc.).
- A builder mindset: you enjoy messy ingestion problems and take pride in clean, maintainable solutions.
- Experience with auditability, compliance, and traceability in data systems is a plus.
Remote-first (US-based preferred)
What you'll do
- Analyze payer reimbursement methodologies, fee schedules, bundling rules, and adjustment patterns.
- Validate expected payment outputs, compare them to actuals, and identify underpayments and anomalies.
- Work with AI and data teams to turn your understanding into structured rules, test cases, and evaluation frameworks.
- Partner with customers to interpret results, quantify opportunity, and inform payer projects and escalations.
What you bring
- Experience in healthcare pricing, reimbursement, managed care, or revenue integrity.
- Comfort reading contracts, policies, and fee schedules and translating them into practical logic.
- Strong analytical skills with Excel/SQL or BI tools.
- Ability to communicate insights clearly to both technical teams and operator stakeholders.
Remote-first (US-based preferred)
What you'll do
- Review and interpret complex payer contracts, amendments, policies, and associated fee schedules.
- Identify key terms, conditions, and edge cases that affect reimbursement, and help translate them into structured logic.
- Collaborate with AI/ML and product teams to validate how contracts are being modeled and priced.
- Surface ambiguities, conflicts, and risks in contract language and suggest ways to clarify or codify them.
What you bring
- Background in payer contracting, managed care, or healthcare legal / compliance adjacent roles.
- Strong attention to detail and comfort summarizing dense contractual language.
- Ability to work closely with both technical teams and customer-facing teams.
- Interest in codifying contract logic so it can be reasoned about by software, not just humans.
